Since 1552 Rossony is known as a village in Polotsk province in the Grand Duchy of Lithuania. Nowadays the urban settlement Rossony is an administrative, economic and cultural centre of Rossony district. Among the largest enterprises are: "Rossony forestry", complex of manufactured goods, "Rossony" brickworks, "Rossony koopzagotprom".
